Who you are dealing with

A family shop, two names above the door, both of them on the tools

Myrtleford Auto Electrics is a family partnership run by Andrew and Craig McKerral. It's been on the business register here since 2000, which is more than twenty five years of Ovens Valley cars, utes, tractors, vans and caravans coming through the roller door.

We're a VACC Accredited Automotive Electrical Specialist and qualified auto air conditioning technicians. In practice that means the awkward jobs end up here: the intermittent fault nobody else could find, the trailer socket someone else wired wrong, the air con job that needs the whole dash out.

Plenty of our work walks in off the Great Alpine Road. If you're towing a van through to Bright or Mount Buffalo and something twelve volt has let go, ring us. We'll tell you straight away whether we can get you back on the road today.

What we do

Batteries, starter motors, air conditioning, alternators

That's what's painted on the front of the shop. It isn't the whole list.

Auto electrical repairs

Starter motors, alternators and charging faults, wiring repairs and electrical diagnostics on cars, utes, four wheel drives and light commercials.

Auto air conditioning

Qualified auto air conditioning technicians. Diagnosis, repair and servicing, including the full dash out jobs most workshops won't take on.

Batteries

Century batteries, tested and fitted. Australian made, including Hi Performance, Overlander and the EverRide range for bikes and off road.

Caravan and trailer wiring

Twelve pin trailer sockets, caravan fridge wiring and towing electrics, put right the first time. A lot of our work comes from vans heading up the valley.

Electric brake controllers

Brake controllers supplied and fitted to utes and tow vehicles, set up properly and explained before you leave the shop.

Driving lights and spotlights

Light bars, spotties and driving lights wired in, plus the awkward faults on lights someone else installed. Found and fixed with no fuss.

Ghost immobilisers

We're now suppliers and installers of the Ghost immobiliser, the best on the market for protecting your asset against theft.

UHF radios and antennas

Uniden and GME UHF radios, Axis antennas, bullbar and bonnet mounts, cable kits, all supplied and fitted at the shop.

Car audio and dash cams

Head units, speakers and 12 volt waterproof multimedia systems, plus dash cams with GPS, and lithium jump starters on the counter.

A job from the workshop

Dash out, loom exposed, then back together like nothing happened

This is a full dash removal on an Isuzu D-MAX. Everything comes out: the cross car beam, the heater and air con box, the wiring loom, the airbag module. It's the kind of job a lot of workshops won't quote on. Here's how it went.

Over the counter

Not just a workshop, an accessory counter

The shelves are stocked and the pegboard's full. UHF radios and antennas, car audio, dash cams, lithium jump starters, and Century batteries for everything from a bike to a tractor. If you're after something and you're not sure we've got it, give us a ring before you drive in.

Can't fault my dealings with Craig and Andrew who fitted electric brakes to my Ute last week. Found them to be extremely pleasant to deal with, work was carried out exactly as planned and they took the time to answer all my questions. Keep up the great work guys!
